DIY: Window Shutter Mail Holder

September 14, 2012 § Leave a comment

How cute is this easy DIY idea! Just an old window shutter painted a fun colour and mounted on the wall to hold all the mail and clutter that would otherwise end up on the kitchen bench!

Now I just have to find a gorgeous old shutter that’s the right size. Watch this space! -C x

Good Juju

April 3, 2012 § Leave a comment

I have been enamoured with the juju hat for quite some time now. Traditionally worn by Village Chiefs in the Cameroon region of central Africa, this authentic feathered head dress has made plenty of glamourous appearances in beautiful interiors over the past few years and it doesn’t look to be a fading trend. I love the way they add quirkiness and texture to any room. I also just love the word ‘JUJU’…

I love built in bookcases and think they have amazing decorative potential when used to display beautiful books as well as beloved collections of decorative items and art work. I also think they can be a great way to work the television into the lounge room decor, televisions being the bane of every decorator’s existence.

Samantha Robinson Ceramics

I am head over heels in love with these beautiful ceramics by Australian designer Samantha Robinson. I love the pretty colours and organic shapes, the subtle imperfections in each piece make them charming and original. They’re a perfectly contemporary take on a traditional art form.
