Affordable Art by Urban Road

September 20, 2012 § 2 Comments

Lately I’ve been on the lookout for affordable art to fill the bare walls of my new home. Along came Urban Road!

This great website sells fantastic prints, stretched onto canvas and ready to hang! Best of all they come in a range of  decent sizes and they won’t break the bank. Oh and did I mention how much I love a site that offers free shipping?

I love them a lot.

I also love deer motifs so this one is definitely my favourite…

Such beautiful colours and styling.

Real Living June 2012

May 22, 2012 § Leave a comment

I know I’m a little late to the party on this one but the June 2012 issue of Real Living magazine is a cracker!

Will you just look at that cover! The stunning artwork is by the talented Andrew O’Brien and I would kill to own a piece like that.

This issue also marked the release of a very exiting collaboration between Real Living and Target. That gorgeous hot pink bedlinen on the cover is only $109 for a queen set!

There are so many great spaces featured in this issue. Talk about major home envy…

Look at that side board!

Those Moroccan pouffes and wedding blanket!

That hot pink pendant light!

Be still my beating heart! -C x

Spotlight on… Pip Boydell

April 19, 2012 § Leave a comment

I first fell in love with Pip Boydell’s work after seeing her featured on Anna Spiro’s gorgeous blog Absolutely Beautiful Things. I then went to Black & Spiro to see some pieces in person and was captivated by the intricacies of each and every work. I love the way Pip captures the beauty of everyday objects in still life and makes each one seem special, individual and spectacular. I would love to own one of her original pieces but I’m just waiting for the right time and the right piece to come together…

Pip also writes a gorgeous blog, PipShining, which you can see here. Her blog was the source for all these gorgeous photos of her work.

Can’t wait to see something by this very talented artist hanging on my wall one day! -C x

Gallery Wall Inspiration

March 10, 2012 § Leave a comment

Every since I started my gallery wall in the kitchen I have been looking for ideas about where to go next when adding pieces to my collection. I thought I’d share a few images that have been giving me inspiration.

I love the blue and white chevron printed wall in the last photo, so much fun! -C x

Samantha Robinson Ceramics

I am head over heels in love with these beautiful ceramics by Australian designer Samantha Robinson. I love the pretty colours and organic shapes, the subtle imperfections in each piece make them charming and original. They’re a perfectly contemporary take on a traditional art form.

I would love a whole set of the latte cups in different colours and patterns, and a vase, and some watermelon bowls… Ok I’ll just have all of it thanks! -C x

Gallery Wall – Part One

March 7, 2012 § Leave a comment

This is the first stage of a small gallery wall that I’ve been planning in my kitchen/ dining area for a while. I love the look of gallery walls but they take A LOT of time and planning to get them just right. I’m hoping to slowly add to this one as I see the perfect pieces.

Clockwise from left: LOVE Candy Lemon print by Made By Girl, flower canvas from Bed Bath N’ Table and framed greeting card from kikki.K.
I’m hoping to add one of these gorgeous prints next -C x

Florence Broadhurst for Kate Spade

February 8, 2012 § 1 Comment

Talk about a match made in heaven! The team from Signature Prints has teamed up with Kate Spade New York to produce one of a kind products with prints from the Florence Broadhurst archives. I’ve always been a fan of Broadhurst’s designs and Kate Spade so this collaboration really excites me! I look forward to seeing more of the products and designs as they’re released throughout the year.

I desperately need to add this beautiful book to my collection!

I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far -C x
